Privacy policy
This page describes the information used by Talkinative and the choices available to you.
Account and learning information
Creating an account provides your name and email address. Passwords are stored as hashes. Account records include learning progress, saved words and activity needed for features you use. Community posts and replies are visible to other members.
Your browser and device
Cookies keep you signed in and remember your interface language. Browser storage also remembers preferences, practice drafts and some device-local progress. See the cookie policy for details.
AI feedback and service providers
When you request AI feedback, your submitted text or speaking recording and relevant task context are sent to Google Gemini for processing. Hosting and database providers process information needed to operate the service. Avoid including sensitive personal information in exercises or recordings.
Storage and your choices
Account data is stored on the server; some preferences and drafts stay in your browser. You can change preferences and clear browser data. Clearing browser data does not delete your server account. Contact support for data or deletion requests once the mailbox on the contact page is available.
